In a typical automotive industry application, Visidot is deployed at a vehicle production plant to implement fully automated assembly sequencing and verification. Vehicle manufacturing processes typically involve multiple chassis, frames and component types, and Visidot represents the most efficient way of assuring proper sequencing as vehicle components are introduced to the production line.
Visidot reader gates deployed at chassis and other vehicle components' points of entry capture barcode (1D), Data Matrix (2D) or ImageID ColorCode tags affixed to incoming sub-assemblies, and verify insertion of the proper components into the production process in the right order. With large field-of-view imaging and best-in-class detection algorithms, Visidot can rapidly detect and decode tags in any orientation, even from afar and while automobile parts are in motion. Additional Visidot readers may be deployed to perform post-assembly verification of proper parts and chassis association. Assembly line controllers are provided with immediate, real-time feedback, assuring them that the production process is proceeding as planned, or alerting them to apply corrective actions, if necessary.
