ImageID, a provider of patented, image-based traceability solutions, today announced two new deals in the European Meat Industry: Westfalenland-Fleischwaren, Germany and Plukon in The Netherlands.
Visidot the company's supply chain traceability system is successfully operational in meat, poultry and fish production sites in Germany, France, Spain and the UK.
Visidot is gaining popularity in this market because it is the only AIDC technology capable of identifying hundreds of barcodes in less than 3 seconds, with 100% accuracy. No other AIDC technology can claim this, especially in the challenging environment of meat processing, where scanners and RFID fail to deliver satisfactory results.
Meat, poultry and fish products need to be replenished every day. Suppliers handle large quantities, often with very short lead time from order to dispatch. Traditional handheld scanning of barcodes not only slows logistics processes but also results in shipping errors, which directly affect the supplier’s bottom line. Retailers’ fines for such errors are additional to the already heavy cost of the lost merchandise.
Visidot automatically compares the tag information with order data and alerts of any errors, thus eliminating returns and claims.
"Visidot produced excellent results, providing Emsland-Frischgeflügel with accurate visibility of poultry produce inventory and practically eliminating all outbound shipping errors”, said IT managers Rothkötter and Breunig.
Visidot helps suppliers to comply with the European Food Traceability regulations. The system provides a real-time view of all operational parameters as well as statistics over time, thus enables better streamlined logistics.
Campofrío Group, Spain, implemented Visidot in its Burgos production plant, with the latest DUAL™ technology for Detection of Unlabeled Assets' Location. Santiago Peña, Director of IT, concluded: “Now that the system is up and running, there is no doubt in our minds that Visidot is a first class traceability solution... It optimizes our logistics process, fulfilling our objectives of increase in efficiency and quality and thus improving customer satisfaction”.
